Norway will provide 100 million Norwegian kroner (11 million U.S. dollars) in budget support to Palestine to help prevent the collapse of basic public services, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said on Monday, reported Xinhua.

"The economic situation in Palestine is so precarious that hospitals, schools and other public services are at risk of collapse. We must do what we can to prevent such a collapse," Eide said in a press release.

According to the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, the support will help maintain basic public services, particularly in the education sector, contribute to the payment of salaries for public employees, and provide a degree of financial stability amid an acute crisis.

Norway's support to Palestine in 2026 is expected to reach 1 billion Norwegian kroner (110 million dollars), according to the press release.
