Russia conducted an aerial attack on Kiev and its surrounding region early Monday, killing at least two people, said Ukrainian authorities, reported Xinhua.
One strike hit a private medical center in Kiev's Obolonskyi district, killing one person and injuring four others, with two in serious condition, said Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko in a post on social media Telegram.
Another person was killed in the Fastiv district, southwest of Kiev, where 12 houses were damaged, according to Ukraine's National Police.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched nine Iskander-M/S-300 missiles and 165 drones during the attack, and 137 drones were intercepted.
Meanwhile, Russian forces have captured the Grabovskoye settlement in Ukraine's Sumy region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
The ministry said units of the "North" group of forces are advancing to establish a security buffer in the border areas of Ukraine's Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
It added that Russian forces struck Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, military airfield infrastructure, drone production and assembly workshops, a drone operator training center, and temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian forces and foreign mercenaries across 148 locations.
Russian air defense systems shot down three guided aerial bombs, three U.S.-made HIMARS rockets and 356 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day, the ministry said.
