At least 16 people were killed and 55 injured in Russia's missile attack on Ukraine's southern city of Odesa Friday, Odesa governor Oleh Kiper said, reported Xinhua.

Russia's armed forces fired missiles at Odesa at 11:00 a.m. local time (0900 GMT), damaging civilian infrastructure, including residential and commercial buildings, Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement.

Among those killed and wounded were emergency medical teams, reported British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

BBC, quoting authorities, said that a double Russian missile attack on Odesa has killed at least 20 people and left more than 70 wounded.
