11 killed in Russia's strike in Ukraine

At least 11 people were killed and 10 injured in Russia's missile strike in the Donetsk region on Saturday, said Vadym Filashkin, the head of the region, reported Xinhua.

Russia shelled the town of Pokrovsk and its neighboring village of Rivne with S-300 missiles, Filashkin wrote on Telegram.

The State Service for Emergencies said that the shelling destroyed two private houses in Pokrovsk and another in Rivne. Search and rescue operations are still underway, the service added.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian forces hit the command post of the Ukrainian task force near Pokrovsk.
