At least ten people were killed and 23 others injured due to extreme weather in Ukraine, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Tuesday, reported Xinhua.

The winter storm accompanied by heavy winds left five dead in the country's southern Odesa region and two in the neighboring Mykolayiv region, Klymenko said in a post on Telegram.

Other deaths occurred in Kiev and the eastern Kharkiv region.

As of Tuesday morning, 411 settlements in 11 Ukrainian regions have been left without electricity as the blizzard damaged power grids.

Ukraine has been experiencing heavy snowfall since Sunday evening.
