Russia records 32,974 daily COVID-19 cases

Russia registered 32,974 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 9,769,011, the official monitoring and response center said Saturday, reported Xinhua.

The nationwide death toll grew by 1,215 to 280,072, while the number of recoveries increased by 35,182 to 8,471,813.

Meanwhile, Moscow, Russia's worst-hit region, reported 3,356 new cases, taking its total to 1,959,939. The Russian capital was followed by Saint Petersburg with 2,528 new cases.

Over 72 million Russian citizens had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of Friday, while around 64 million of them had been fully vaccinated.
