The exacerbation of the situation with migrants on the Belarus-Poland border is the result of Poland's long-term disregard of objective reality, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus reported Tuesday.

According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the attitude of Poland toward foreigners seeking asylum will become a litmus test of Warsaw's commitment to the principles of international law, humanism, and human rights protection.

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, the leaders of Russia and Belarus discussed the situation on the Belarus-Poland border, stressing their concern over the gathering of regular Polish troops on the border.

On Monday, a large group of refugees came to the Belarus-Poland border to seek asylum. Polish security forces used tear gas and unmanned aerial vehicles to stop them. Later, migrants began to build a campground. Polish authorities estimated that about 4,000 people were located in the camp.
