Russia's coronavirus cases surpass 990,000

Russia registered 4,980 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking its national caseload to 990,326, the country's COVID-19 response center said in a statement Sunday, reported Xinhua.
Meanwhile, 68 new deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 17,093.
Moscow, the country's worst-hit region, reported 695 new cases, bringing its tally of infections to 261,733, the center said.
According to the statement, 806,982 patients have recovered so far, including 2,599 over the past day.
As of Saturday, 211,578 people were still under medical observation, while over 36.4 million tests have been conducted across the country.
