2 groups of migrants relocated from Malta to Germany, France

Two groups of migrants were relocated to Germany and France in the past days,the Maltese government said on Thursday.

The migrants relocated to Germany are all from the NGO vessel Ocean Viking. They were rescued by the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) and brought to Malta on Aug. 23, the government said in a press release.

The second group of migrants relocated to France are also from the Ocean Viking resue as well as from NGO Sea-Eye vessel Alan Kurdi rescue, which occurred on Sept. 10.

The number of relocated migrants isn't clear.

This relocation is a result of an agreement with the European Commission and several EU member states.
