Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen arrived in Iceland Tuesday for the annual Nordic prime ministers' meeting.

At a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, the prime minister declared that all the Nordic leaders should "stick together" as they share the "same values and the same ideas."

"We need to show our children and young people that we are taking responsibility for the environment," Frederiksen told the press.

Over the next two days, the Danish prime minister will meet with a number of Nordic business people to discuss how business can become more involved in a stronger implementation of the Paris Agreement and others.

Prime ministers from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden meet annually to discuss how to make the Nordic region the most sustainable and integrated one in the world. The climate will be central to the agenda. The meeting ends on August 21.

The prime ministers seek to forge a new vision for the Nordic Council of Ministers. The aim is to raise common ambitions on climate and sustainability.
