Students observe 'Vanhat Day' in traditional style

Students of the eleventh grade at the upper secondary schools in Finland on Friday observed Vanhojen tanssit 2026 (dances of the old) in traditional style amid festivity and joys.

The event called the Seniors' Ball, a long-standing Finnish high school tradition is celebrated marking who's now "on top" of the school hierarchy.

The dances are choreographed ahead of the big day and typically feature classical ballroom styles where students performed wearing elegant ball gowns.

The authorities of the upper secondary schools organised the event where teachers and guardians of the students joined as spectators.

The end of the event, students also invited their guardians to take part in the dances.

Earlier on Thursday, the twelfth graders at the upper secondary schools in Finland celebrated their last day of school before their final examinations scheduled to be held in spring.

They tossed candy from trucks to mark their last days of school.
