First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb will join Aalto University School of Business as Executive in Residence for business law, said the President Office and the Aalto University in separate press releases on Monday.

She has resigned on 20 March 2024 from her position at KONE, where she has led the Global Compliance team as Vice President. She will continue to work for KONE until June 14.

She has been appointed by the Aalto University on a three-year part-time contract beginning on September 1 where she will teach optional courses in business law at Master's level.

"I have enjoyed working at KONE and I am grateful for the opportunities my employer offered me to change my job description after my spouse was elected President of the Republic of Finland. However, after careful consideration, I believe that my new role will give me a better opportunity to serve Finland as the President's spouse. At the same time, I can continue to pursue a career in law", said Innes-Stubb.

"It's great to be at a stage in my career where I can share my knowledge with future professionals. I think that I will also be able to develop myself professionally in the academic world," she added.

Innes-Stubb holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Surrey, where she studied law, French and German. She is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. In 1995 she earned a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in European law at the College of Europe, located in Bruges, Belgium.
