Real estate maintenance costs rise by 3.3% in Q2

Real estate maintenance costs rose by 3.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the corresponding period of 2025, according to Statistics Finland.

Of the cost items of real estate maintenance, the costs of heating grew most, by 6.7 per cent.

The maintenance costs of residential blocks of flats rose by 2.9 per cent, those of health care centres by 0.9 per cent, those of day care centres by 2.3 per cent and those of school buildings by 2.6 per cent in the second quarter of 2026.

The costs of industrial buildings increased by 6.0 per cent, those of office buildings by 2.7 per cent and wholesale and retail trade buildings by 3.8 per cent compared to one year before.

The total index of real estate maintenance decreased by 0.5 per cent from the previous quarter.
