Building costs rise by 1.8% in Finland in May

Building costs increased by 1.8 per cent in May 2026 compared to the previous year's corresponding period, according to Statistics Finland.
Among materials, the biggest cost increases in the year were recorded in house equipment (5.9%) and in electricity, control, lighting and lift supplies (4.6%).
Costs decreased most in the year in soil (5.3%) and in ventilation supplies (1.5%).
Labour input costs increased by 3.2 per cent while the costs of materials increased by 1.3 per cent compared to a year ago.
The costs of services increased by 0.1 per cent.
