Industrial output drops by 2.6% in April

Seasonally adjusted industrial output decreased by 2.6 per cent in April from the previous month, according to Statistics Finland.
The industrial output adjusted for working days went up by 1.9 per cent in April compared to April 2025.
Output was lower than in the previous month in nearly all main industries.
Industrial output grew in April from the month before only in the electrical and electronics industry.
The fall was strongest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, where output was 8.2 per cent lower than in March.
Output decreased in mining and quarrying by 6.8 per cent and in the chemical industry by 3.9 per cent from the month before.
Output also fell from the previous month in the forest industry (2.1%), in the food industry (1.7%) and in the metal industry (1.3%).
Only the electrical and electronics industry generated slightly more output than in March (1.7%).
