Manufactured goods see 4.6% price rise in April

Producer prices for manufactured products rose by an average of 4.6 per cent from April 2025 to April 2026, according to Statistics Finland.

The producer prices of manufactured products sold on the domestic market rose by 5.5 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went up by 3.7 per cent.

The rise in the producer prices was particularly caused by higher prices of refined petroleum products and basic precious and other non-ferrous metals compared with last year's April.

The increase in prices was curbed especially by the decrease in prices of paper and paper products and other chemical products from a year ago.

The import price index went up by 6.7 per cent in a year. The increase in import prices was, in turn, especially caused by higher prices of crude petroleum and refined petroleum products compared with last year’s April.

The basic price index for domestic supply rose by 3.9 per cent and the basic price index for domestic supply including taxes went up by 2.7 per cent from a year ago.

From March to April, producer prices for manufactured products went up by 1.2 per cent.
