New car registration rises by 3% in Finland in Q1

A total of 17,202 new passenger cars were registered in Finland in January to March period of 2026, which was 3 per cent more than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
In March, a total of 6,791 new passenger cars were registered, which was 10 per cent more than one year earlier.
In all, 11,972 new vehicles were registered in March. First registrations increased by 10 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
Of first-time registered passenger cars in March, 50 per cent were fully electric. The number of the electric car registrations was 3,369, or 38 per cent higher than one year earlier.
In all, 2,304 new petrol-fuelled passenger cars were registered in March, which was one per cent more than one year earlier.
