Inflation stands at 1% in Finland in January

The year-on-year change in the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices ((HICP) stood at 1.0 per cent in January 2026, according to Statistics Finland.

In December, the year-on-year change in the HICP stood at 1.7 per cent.

According to the preliminary data, the month-on-month change was minus 0.2 per cent in January 2026.

In January, the biggest year-on-year change, 11.1 per cent was in the Education services.

The HICP does not include owner-occupancy, interests on consumption and other credits, fire insurance on owner-occupied dwellings, the vehicle tax or fishing and hunting fees.
