Average prices of liquid fuel rise in January

Average prices of petrol and diesel increased in January 2026 compared to the previous month, according to Statistics Finland.

The average price of per litre diesel including taxes was EUR 1.8 and petrol 95 including taxes was EUR 1.8.

The equivalent average price for petrol 98 was EUR 1.9 and for light fuel oil was EUR 1.2.

The annual change of the average price for diesel was minus 1.7 per cent in January 2026.

The annual change of the average price for petrol 95 was also minus 1.7 per cent and for petrol 98 was minus 1.1 per cent.

The annual change of the average price for light fuel oil was minus 9.0 per cent.

The monthly change of the average price was biggest for diesel (1.7%) and smallest for petrol 95 (0.6%).
