More Finns file debt restructuring petitions last year

A total of 5,348 debt restructuring petitions of private persons were filed with district courts in 2025, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of petitions filed in the last year was 519 (10.7%) higher than in the previous year.

Men filed more petitions of debt restructuring compared to the women.

Altogether 50.7 per cent of debt restructuring petitions were filed by men and 49.3 per cent by women in 2025.
