Wage, salary increase by 2.1% in Nov Y-on-Y

The working day adjusted wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was 2.1 per cent higher in November 2025 than in November 2024, according to Statistics Finland.

The seasonally adjusted wages and salaries sum of the whole economy increased by 0.3 per cent in November from the previous month.

The working day adjusted wages and salaries sum was 1.5 per cent higher in the private sector in November than twelve months earlier.

The wages and salaries sum in the public sector was 3.6 per cent higher than a year earlier in the corresponding period.

In the private sector, the wages and salaries sum decreased by 0.5 per cent and increased in the public sector by 0.5 per cent in November from the month before.

The wages and salaries sum increased in November 2025 in majority of main industries but decreased in the industries of private education and private health and social work compared to November 2024.

The wages and salaries sum increased significantly in the industry of manufacturing (5.1%) and construction (4.1%). The growth was moderate in the industries of trade (1.2%), other services (1.2%) and finance and insurance (1.0%).

At the same period the working day adjusted wages and salaries sum decreased in the industries of private education (2.1%) and private health and social work (2.1%).
