Prices of liquid fuels, electricity drop in Q3

Prices of liquid fuels, electricity and wood pellets decreased in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the corresponding period in 2024, according to Statistics Finland.

Of the domestic fuels used in energy production, the user prices of forest chippings and milled peat rose.

In September 2025, the consumer price of petrol decreased by four per cent, that of diesel by five per cent and that of light fuel oil by three per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2024.

The consumer price of wood pellets fell by 12 per cent in August 2025 compared to one year earlier.

The taxable price of milled peat rose by one per cent in the third quarter of 2025 and the price of forest chippings by six per cent compared to the corresponding period of 2024.

In September, the total price of electricity for household customers went down by four to nine per cent compared to one year earlier. Correspondingly, the price for enterprise and corporate customers fell by 7 to 19 per cent.
