79 staff affect as UPM stops label materials production in France

Finnish forest-based bio-industry company UPM will stop label materials production in Nancy, France affecting 79 employees, said the company in a press release on Wednesday.
The Nancy site will continue as a slitting and distribution terminal offering service to UPM Adhesive Materials’ customers.
The consultation process with employee representatives was completed on November 12, according to French legislation and approved by the French authorities on November 28.
UPM offers support to employees to alleviate the effects of the staff reductions.
The discontinuation of the label materials production will help the company to save cost, said the press release.
