Posti delivers 1.7m parcels during Black Friday week

National postal and logistic services operator Posti delivered 1.7 million parcels during the Black Friday week this year, said Posti in a press release on Tuesday.
“Large numbers of parcels have been delivered across Finland, and deliveries have gone smoothly,” said Heidi Ioannidou, who is responsible for Posti’s service point network.
Posti also said that it is prepared for the growing holiday season parcel rush in many ways to make sending and picking up parcels as easy and smooth as possible.
Posti serves customers across Finland with over 2,100 parcel lockers and around 1,100 service points offering personal assistance.
“Holiday season is the busiest time of the year for Posti, and we want to deliver parcels quickly and smoothly even during the peak weeks,” Ioannidou added.
Posti also remind about sending parcels and cards on occasion of Christmas on time.
Domestic parcels will reach their destination by Christmas if people send them by December 19.
Christmas cards with a discounted Christmas stamp need to be mailed by December 11 while the last mailing date with a domestic no-value indicator stamp is December 16.
