Building costs rise by 1.6% in October Y-on-Y

Building costs increased by 1.6 per cent in October 2025 compared to the stipulated month of the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.

Among materials, the biggest cost increases in the year were recorded in timber structures (9.5%) and in house equipment (4.2%).

Costs decreased most in the year in steel structures (4.7%) and in construction site surface structures (4.0%).

Labour input costs increased by 3.9 per cent and the costs of materials increased by 0.6 per cent compared to a year ago.

The costs of services, however, decreased by 1.7 per cent compared to last year.
