More Finns file debt restructuring petitions in Jan-Sep

Number of petitions for restructuring of debts increased by 9.1 per cent in January to September 2025 from the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.

A total of 3,932 debt restructuring petitions of private persons were filed with district courts in January to September 2025.

The number of petitions filed was 329 (9.1 %) higher than in the respective period one year previously.

Altogether 50.8 per cent of debt restructuring petitions were filed by men and 49.2 per cent by women in January to September.
