Building costs rise in Finland in August Y-on-Y

Building costs increased by 0.9 per cent in August 2025 compared to the previous year's corresponding period, according to Statistics Finland.

Among materials, the biggest cost increase in the year were recorded in timber structures, 7.8 per cent. Costs decreased most in steel structures, 5.5 per cent.

Labour input costs increased by 1.9 per cent in August 2025 compared to a year ago.

The costs of materials increased by 0.8 per cent compared to a year ago.

The costs of services decreased by 3.0 per cent compared to a year ago.
