Building costs rise in Finland in July Y-on-Y

Building costs increased by 0.7 per cent in July 2025 compared to the previous year's corresponding period, according to Statistics Finland.

Among materials, the biggest cost increases in the year were recorded in timber structures (8.7%) and in roofing materials (2.8%).

Costs decreased most in the year in steel structures (3.5%) and in construction site surface structures (3.0%).

Labour input costs increased by 0.7 per cent while the costs of materials increased by 1.3 per cent compared to a year ago.

The costs of services decreased by 2.9 per cent compared to a year ago.
