New car registration drops by 5% in Finland in H1

A total of 37,258 new passenger cars were registered in Finland in January-June period of 2025, which was 5 per cent fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In June, a total of 7,449 new passenger cars were registered, which was 10 per cent more than one year earlier.

In all, 12,557 new vehicles were registered in June. First registrations increased by 4 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

Of first-time registered passenger cars in June 2025, 33 per cent were fully electric.

The number of their registrations was 2,491, or 31 per cent higher than one year earlier.

In June, 3,092 new petrol-fuelled passenger cars were registered, which was 7 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
