New car registration drops by 26% in June

A total of 7,396 new passenger cars were registered in in Finland June 2022, which was 26 % fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
In all, 14,511 new vehicles were registered in June. First registrations decreased by 20 % from the corresponding month of the previous year.
The component shortage in the motor industry causes delays in the production of new cars.
Of first-time registered passenger cars, 15 % were electric. The number of their registrations was 1,141, or 8 % higher than one year earlier.
Used imported passenger cars numbered 4,124, which was 17 % more than one year earlier.
