New car registration drops by 11.9% in Oct

In October a total of 11,713 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 7,847 were automobiles, according to Statistics Finland.
First registrations decreased by 14.3 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
The number of new passenger cars registered in October was 6,611, which was 11.9 per cent down from the year before.
The share of new electric passenger cars was 18.0 per cent and plug-in hybrid electric cars 20.0 per cent.
A total of 2,517 new electric and plug-in hybrid electric cars were registered, which was 101 per cent up from the year before.
The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.
In the January to October period of 2021 a total of 153,793 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, there was an increase of 5.8 per cent.
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to October period was 85,275, which is 5.4 per cent up from the year before.
The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to October period were Toyota, Volkswagen and Skoda.
