New car registration slides 3.8% in July

A total of 14,776 new motor vehicles were registered in July this year, of which 10,383 were automobiles, according to the Statistics Finland.
First registrations decreased by 2.1 per cent from that in the corresponding month of the previous year.
In July the number of new private cars registered was 9,217 or 3.8 per cent down from the year before. The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 16.5 per cent.
In the January to July period of 2019 a total of 117,126 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 5.3 per cent.
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to July period was 69,497, which is 12.2 per cent down from the year before.
The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to July were Toyota, Skoda and Volkswagen.
