Finland summons Russian envoy over airspace violation

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland on Monday summoned the Russia's ambassador to Helsinki, Pavel Kuznetsov over suspected violation of Finnish airspace by two Russian military aircraft on Friday, according to the ministry.

“The Foreign Ministry of Finland has today (Monday) summoned the Ambassador of Russia and requested an explanation regarding the suspected violation of airspace,” the ministry wrote in a post on its social media platform X.

The two Russian military aircraft reportedly entered into Finnish airspace near Porvoo on Friday, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The Defence Ministry and the Finnish Coast Guard are investigating into the incident.
