President Alexander Stubb on Thursday had a telephone conversation with President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas, said the President Office.

The Presidents discussed, among other things, the situation in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and the Middle East.

“Had a good discussion today (Thursday) with President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmud Abbas. We discussed about the situation in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and the Middle East,” Stubb wrote in a post in his social media platform X after the discussion.

Earlier on April 22, Stubb had a telephone conversation with President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog and discussed the topical situation in the Middle East. The Presidents also shared views about Ukraine.

The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip from ongoing Israeli attacks has risen to 34,305, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said on Thursday, reported Xinhua.

Israel has been launching a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and more than 200 were taken hostage.
