The negotiations aimed at thwarting the threat of strike posed by the workers in the ICT sector will continue on Monday, reported the local media.

National Conciliator Minna Helle tweeted on Sunday afternoon that the weekend negotiations were over and will continue on Monday.

Tight negotiations have been ongoing for about a week between the Trade Union Pro and Service Sector Employers Palta.

The dispute concerns employees’ salary and working conditions, especially personnel leasing.

Failure to have a deal in place will see the workers go on strike from 27 November to 1 January.

Approximately 12,000 people will participate in the labour dispute. They include telecom operators, telephone companies, network builders, and maintenance companies.

The collective agreement in the sector ended at the end of October.
