Four women were ousted from a public sauna in Tampere due to violation of the dress code of the sauna authority stipulated for the female bathers, reported national broadcaster Yle on Tuesday.

The authority of Rauhaniemi public spa on Friday asked the topless women, activists of the 'normalise the nipple' movement to leave the sauna as their breasts were open and they refused to cover them.

According to the rule of the sauna authority, the women need to cover the top half of their bodies.

They activist women, however, expressed their optimism to continue their movement to change the rule regarding the toplessness of the women.

Although nudity in the sauna is very normal and well accepted in Finnish society, some public sauna authorities set guidelines for the bathers to wear swimwear, particularly if the sauna is shared by male and women.

The four women are members of the feminist 'breast activism' group Cult Cunth, which strives to promote gender equality, among other issues, the Yle report added.
