1 sustains bullet wound in Tampere, 4 held

One person sustained bullet wound in a gun attack in Lentävänniemi area of Tampere late Friday night, said the police in a press release on Saturday.

The incident of firing took place at Männistönkuja 2 at about 11:00 PM.

Responding to a call, several units of patrol police along with ambulances rushed to the spot and recovered the bullet-riddled victim from there. The injured person was taken to hospital.

Later, the law-enforcing agency members also arrested four people in connection with the incident.

“One person had been shot and was taken to hospital for treatment. The police later arrested four people and their involvement in the incident is being investigated,” said Director of Investigation (Crime) of the Inland Finland Police Markku Laakso.

The police are investigating the incident and did not divulge any more details in this regard at this preliminary stage of investigation.
