The police arrested a woman on charge of suspected vaccine fraud at Virolahti on Sunday, reported the news media, quoting the police.
The woman in guise of a nursing student visited many houses at the locality on Saturday and offered the so-called coronavirus vaccine at a price of EUR 150.
The police, however, do not believe the suspect was in a position to have real coronavirus vaccine.
It still remains unknown how many houses were knocked by the suspect but members of the law-enforcing agency said a significant number of people informed the police in this regard.
Virolahti is a municipality located in the southeasternmost area of the country and near the Vaalimaa crossing point on the Russian border.
The detainee was taken into the custody of the Lappeenranta police.
