1 killed, 2 injured in road mishap in Oulu

One person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident that took place on Kuusamontie (Kuusamo road) near Hannusperä area in Oulu on Sunday.

The police said the accident took place at about 11:00 AM when a private car coming from Oulu skidded off the road and collided head on with another car coming from opposite direction.

The person who was alone in the car coming from Oulu died on the spot while two passengers of the other car coming from Kuusamo were slightly injured in the accident.

The injured were taken to the Oulu University Hospital and given first aid.

At the time of the accident, the road surface was snowy and the temperature was two degrees Celsius. The speed limit was 80 kilometres per hour.

In the preliminary investigation, the police did not find any influence of alcohol on the accident.
