First inter-parliamentary event begins today

The first inter-parliamentary event of the Finnish Presidency will be the Meeting of the Chairpersons of COSAC on Sunday and Monday.

The meeting brings together the chairpersons of the European Affairs Committees of the national Parliaments of the Member States and representatives of the European Parliament, said a press release issued by Finnish parliament.

The main political debate at the COSAC chairpersons’ meeting will be on the Multiannual Financial Framework.

After a keynote address by Alain Lamassoure, former French minister and former MEP, participants are invited to give their views on how to find common ground, and an MFF that all member states can accept.
