The City of Helsinki has decided to reduce the rents for its event venues on a case-by-case basis, said a press release.

The reason behind the reduction of rent is the coronavirus situation, which has left a strong negative impact on the events sector.

The rent policy will be applicable from 1 July to 30 September.

Observing the principle of parity, the rent pricing will account for the conditions that go with the regulations on government funding, the demand for the venue in question, and the nature of the event.

Another criterion for the rent level is the planned number of visitors to the event (more or less than 500 people), and costs for possible related delimitation measures.

The city recommends the daughter organisations of the Helsinki City business group to take this rent policy into account within the scope of their own economic capacity.
