Polar night ends in Northern Finland

The polar night ((endless night) ended at Nuorgam, the northernmost village in Utsjoki in Finland on Tuesday.
The sunrise took place at 11:47 am after about two months and set at 12:57.
The duration of the first day was one hour and ten minutes.
The polar night, well-known as kaamos in Finnish, is the period around the winter equinox when the sun does not rise during the daytime above the horizon at any point.
