Karis 's Finland visit postponed as Niinistö goes to self-isolation

The first visit of President of Estonia Alar Karis to Finland scheduled for Thursday has been postponed due to COVID-19 exposure, said Office of the President of Finland in a press release on Thursday.

The meeting scheduled to be held between President Sauli Niinistö and Alar Karis also has been cancelled.

The exposure occurred at Malmö International Forum on Holocaust on Wednesday, as Niinistö had a discussion with President of Latvia Egils Levits during breakfast.

President Levits later tested positive for COVID-19. As a precaution, Niinistö will self-isolate and take a COVID-19 test.

President of Estonia Alar Karis, who started his presidential term on 11 October was scheduled to make his first visit to Finland on 14 October.
