Man burnt to death in Kerimäki house fire

One person was killed in a fire, which broke out at a single house at Kerimäki in South Savo late Sunday night, police said on Monday.

The fire took place at about 7:00 PM and engulfed the house immediately.

Rescue service personnel rushed to the spot responding to a call and brought the fire under control. But a man, resident of the house, was burnt to death in the fire.

The firefighters recovered the body from the severely damaged the house, said police.

The fire, however, did not spread to the nearby area.

The origin of the fire, however, could not be known and the Police are investigating into the incident to find out detail in this regard.
