Three residents of Itäkeskus Service House have been diagnosed with COVID-19, said the City of Helsinki in a press release on Friday.

The first infection was diagnosed on 4 September. The people infected are all from the same group home.

As a precaution, all the residents of the service home are being tested for the coronavirus, in addition to which the residents’ health is being closely monitored.

The infected residents are being treated in quarantine-like conditions in their own rooms.

“All of the infected residents have received two vaccine doses and have only experienced mild symptoms so far. Vaccination coverage at the entire group home is very good,” said Service District Director Maritta Haavisto.

The families of the group home’s residents have been informed of the situation. Visits to group homes are currently prohibited, but friends and family members can contact residents by phone.

New residents are not being admitted to the group home at the moment.
