The latest James Bond film "No Time to Die" has crossed the 700-million-U.S.-dollar mark worldwide this weekend, reported Xinhua.

According to studio figures collected by measurement firm Comscore, the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and United Artists Releasing's blockbuster took in an estimated 4.62 million dollars in its sixth weekend in the United States and Canada for a North American cume of 150.47 million dollars through Sunday.

"No Time to Die" also brought in 24 million dollars this weekend in 72 international markets, pushing its international total to 558.18 million dollars for a worldwide gross of 708.55 million dollars, including over 58 million dollars from China. The film is now the biggest Hollywood title of the COVID-19 pandemic overseas, surpassing Universal Pictures' action film "F9: The Fast Saga."

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, the 25th installment in the Bond franchise is Daniel Craig's fifth and final film in the role of the British spy. The film, with a reported budget of over 250 million dollars, also stars Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris among others.

In this film, Bond's new mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading him onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
