Trade balance shows €410m deficit in Nov

The trade balance was in deficit of EUR 410 million in November, according to the preliminary statistics of international trade in goods provided by Finnish Customs.

In January-November, the deficit amounted to EUR 3.7 billion. In November 2020, the trade balance was EUR 241 million in deficit and in January-November of the same year it was EUR 3.3 billion in deficit, said Customs in a recent press release.

According to the statistics, the value of Finnish exports increased by 30.9 per cent, and the value of imports by 32,7 per cent in November year-on-year.

The value of Finnish exports in November was EUR 6.5 billion and the value of imports EUR 6.9 billion. During the reference month in 2020 exports decreased by 2.9 per cent and imports by 0.4 per cent.

In January-November 2021, the total value of exports increased by 19.4 per cent and the value of imports by 18.9 per cent year-on-year.

Exports to EU member states increased by 33.7 per cent and exports to non-EU countries by 27.2 per cent in November.

Imports from EU countries increased by 24.9 per cent and imports from non-EU countries by 44.3 per cent.

Calculated from the beginning of the year, exports to EU countries rose by 20.2 per cent and to non-EU countries by 18.3 per cent.

During the same period, imports from EU member states rose by 16.9 per cent and from other countries by 21.8 per cent.
