Global coronavirus deaths surpass 750,000

Global COVID-19 deaths surpassed 750,000 on Thursday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University, reported Xinhua.

With the total COVID-19 cases around the world reaching 20,651,113, the death toll worldwide rose to 750,030 as of 8:27 a.m. (1227 GMT), the CSSE data showed.

The United States reported the most COVID-19 cases and deaths, which stood at 5,197,749 and 166,038 respectively, accounting for more than one fifth of the global death toll. Brazil recorded 3,164,785 cases and 104,201 deaths, second only to the United States.

Other countries with over 30,000 fatalities include Mexico, India, Britain, Italy and France.
