Global coronavirus cases top 6.2m

Confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide topped 6.2 million on Monday, reaching 6,206,773 as of 11:32 a.m. (1532 GMT), according to data compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

A total of 372,752 people worldwide have died of the disease, the data showed.

The United States suffered the most from the pandemic, with 1,793,780 cases and a death toll of 104,450. Countries with over 200,000 cases also included Brazil, Russia, Britain, Spain and Italy, according to the CSSE data.
