A total of 27,400 Syrian refugees have returned home from Jordan since last October, state news agency SANA reported on Wednesday.

SANA said that the Syrian government is providing the returnees with all necessities to help them have safe stay home.

It said tens of people returned on Wednesday to the southern province of Daraa.

The return of refugees started when the Nasib border crossing between the two countries was re-opened in October of 2018.

It is estimated that Jordan is hosting 1.4 million Syrian refugees.
